Job
summary:
Reporting
to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for
evaluating, designing and delivering personalized therapy programs that help
children and individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) build essential
skills for everyday life, learning, and social engagement. The role aims to
foster independence, improve sensory processing, develop motor abilities, and
strengthen adaptive behaviors using evidence-based approaches, while partnering
closely with families and multidisciplinary professionals to support each
client’s overall growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- To evaluate and
create personalized therapy plans based on each child’s unique needs.
- Deliver
targeted interventions to enhance fine motor abilities, sensory
processing, daily living skills, and adaptive behaviors.
- Work closely
with families, educators, and other specialists to provide cohesive
support across different environments.
- To keep
thorough documentation of each child’s progress and adjust treatment plans
as needed.
- Guide and
empower families to understand and apply therapy strategies at home.
- Perform any
other relevant duty.
Job
requirements
- Diploma in
Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
- Registered and
licensed by the relevant professional body.
- At least 2
years of experience working with children, preferably those with special
needs or autism.
- Strong
communication, patience, and organizational skills.
- Certification
or additional training in sensory integration is an added advantage.
- Strong customer
service focus;
- Ability to work
well with people from varied backgrounds at all levels in the
organization;
- Ability to
multi-task, meet deadlines and work under significant pressure.
