HR Administrator

Our client specialises in producing biodegradable food packaging materials. They seek to
hire a HR Administrator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling general HR
duties.
Job Location-Thika
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Liaise with the legal team in the preparation of employment contracts
2. Regularly monitor timekeeping and bio-metric records
3. Ensure job descriptions are up to date
4. Manage employee contracting and onboarding
5. Leave management


6. Work with the accounts team in payroll management
7. Train and educate staff on statutory contributions and benefits
8. Collaborate with operations to ensure insurance covers (like WIBA) are up to date
9. Make casual labour payments in coordination with accounts
10. Responsible for Occupational health and safety and ensure compliance
11. Develop and implement professional development plans
12. Update the employee database and maintain the HRIS
13. Ensure compliance of HR practices with labour law
14. Organise staff training events
15. Log and handle staff inquiries and complaints
16. Facilitate staff access to relevant work resources, equipment and/or tools
Required Specifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or
a related field.
2. Proven experience as an HR Administrator or similar role in an SME
3. IHRM Membership
4. Strong understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
8. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
