One of our clients, Christian Based Organisation, based in Nakuru is looking for qualified candidates to fill the following open positions.

Project Accountant - Construction

We are looking for a highly capable Construction Project Accountant to provide our project team with accounting support.

As a Project Accountant, one will be required to manage all project bills and invoices.

Your duties will also include reviewing budgets and preparing financial reports.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure all estimated construction costs are tracked and managed.

Reviewing budgets, including staffing, work plans, and fee structures.

Providing project managers and clients with timely financial reports and budgets, as well as project forecasts.

Preparing pre-billing reports for project managers to review.

Preparing actual costs, working capital, and tax reports.

Issuing invoices and purchase orders, as well as paying consultant, subcontractor, vendor, and supplier bills.

Collaborating with the project manager to develop a detailed, cost-effective budget for the project.

Performing accounting duties throughout the project, such as preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, and signing off on purchase orders.

Analyzing all transactions and working unforeseen costs into the budget.

Keeping a record of all project finances for internal/external auditing and tax purposes.

Preparing cost analyses by interpreting projects' financial data and information.

Reporting any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review.

Keeping abreast with both the construction and accounting industry.

Job Requirements


Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualified.

5 years' experience in Project Accountant in a Construction Industry or related field.

Advanced proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Exceptional ability to prepare project budgets, financial forecasts, and tax reports.

Extensive experience in Construction project invoicing and billing.

In-depth knowledge of best practices in Accounting.

Excellent communication skills toward effective collaboration and client services.

Proactive and vibrant individual

Ability to maintain up to date budgetary discrepancies reports

Ability to capture all Accounting activities associated with Construction Project Daily

A critical thinker – able to conceptualize the scope of work and project and related Accounting requirements

Good Moral standing embracing Christian values.
