Our
client builds software that powers microfinance and lending systems for Saccos,
banks, and lending institutions. We are seeking a skilled Business Developer
who will drive revenue growth by managing the full sales cycle, building
strategic partnerships, and promoting system solutions to microfinance and
lending institutions across East Africa.
Job brief;
The
Business Developer will drive revenue growth by managing the full sales cycle,
building strategic partnerships, and promoting system solutions to microfinance
and lending institutions across East Africa. The Business Developer will also
focus on client acquisition, relationship management, and market expansion
while ensuring excellent customer experience, revenue generation for
profitability and business success.
Revenue Generation
- Serve as the first point of contact for new prospects interested in
the company’s microfinance system solutions.
- Develop and implement end-to-end sales strategies to drive revenue
growth.
- Meet and exceed set sales targets each month, quarter and on an
annual basis
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and prospecting to
negotiation and deal closure.
- Maintain clear visibility and active management of the sales
pipeline.
- Analyze sales reports and performance data to identify trends and
opportunities.
- Conduct market research and analysis to inform product positioning,
demand generation, and geographic expansion.
- Prepare, review, and execute client agreements and contracts
accurately and efficiently.
- Travel across East Africa periodically to identify new business
opportunities and conduct market research.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and summits,
pitching products and services to potential clients.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations tailored to client
needs.
- Coordinate and manage all client communication throughout the sales
and onboarding journey.
- Handle escalations, resolve client concerns, and ensure high levels
of customer satisfaction during the sales process.
Customer Experience &
Relationship Management
- Provide excellent customer experience by maintaining in-depth
knowledge of products and services.
- Collaborate with internal teams (technical, and support) to ensure
seamless project delivery to the customer
- In liaison with the support executives, handle customer inquiries
and complaints professionally, ensuring timely resolution.
- Prepare customer onboarding documents and share with the CEO for
review and sign off
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to drive
loyalty and retention.
- Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and
prospective clients.
- Share customer feedback on products and services, and ensure ratings
across all platforms
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a strategic partner to business leadership, aligning sales
activities with the company’s vision and financial goals.
- Provide regular reports, updates and insights to the CEO on sales
performance and market conditions
Data Protection &
Compliance
- Ensure all client and prospect data is handled in accordance with
data protection and privacy regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and business data at
all times.
- Ensure secure handling, storage, and sharing of sensitive
information.
- Report any data breaches or risks in line with company policies.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field
- Minimum 3 years Experience in selling CORE-BANKING/CRM/ERP systems
preferably to Banks, FinTech, Microfinance, Saccos Clients
- Strong aggression in driving revenue growth
- Strong understanding of microfinance operations and lending systems
- Ability to manage the full sales cycle and close deals
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data
and market trends
- Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships
- High level of professionalism, initiative, and results-driven
mindset
- Familiarity with CRM tools and sales tracking systems
- Proficient in MS Office & Excel
- Ability to manage multiple deals and timelines simultaneously
- Be confident and self-motivated
- Demonstrate a passionate commitment to the business
- Be able to work unsupervised in a busy environment
- Be honest and reliable with strong ethical standards
