This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a diverse portfolio of Finance and programmes in Gedo, Somalia. The right candidate will be a leader in the team and taking on responsibility for the financial management of Trocaire Somalia’s entire programmes both development, humanitarian as well as Trocaire unrestricted funds in Somalia. The holder will also be ensuring partner compliance with Trócaire and donor requirements, providing technical assistance and capacity building in financial management and systems to Trócaire and partners’ staff. The Programme Finance Manager is critical to ensuring coherence and consistency in our programming and in our different approaches to partnership across this diverse portfolio.
S/he is the key technical supporter to the programme teams, partners, IF team members, Operations & Finance, major donors, and HQ Finance staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Commerce,
Business Administration, or a related field, degree from a leading
university, and Professional Accounting Qualification: CPA-K, CA, or ACCA
(fully qualified and in good standing with the relevant professional body).
Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in
financial management in a complex organization.
- Grant management experience with local partner
organizations.
- Experience in interpreting financial information
and preparing and presenting financial reports to non-finance
professionals in an accurate and timely manner.
- Cultural awareness and the ability to work
collaboratively in an international environment with people from diverse
backgrounds and cultures.
- Experience in training/capacity building of
staff in a multi-cultural environment
Skills:
- Strong leadership skills including supervise and
supervise and motivate qualified professional staff with strong personal
value systems.
- Demonstrated ability to meet corporate
governance and accountability requirements of host governments, the
organisation, and donors.
- Highly organised, with excellent planning,
prioritisation, and problem-solving skills
- Proven organisation and planning skills.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in MS
Word, Excel and internet/email and accounting software -Agresso
- In depth knowledge of managing grants and
contractual requirements of institutional donors.
- Ability to work well with others under strict

- Good written and verbal communication skills and
strong organisational skills language.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative
and set priorities.
