Job Summary
- To achieve sustainable growth and profitability by developing,
implementing and regularly reviewing the company’s business strategy and
policies relating to Estate Planning and Administration services.
- The Estate Planner is responsible for providing
counsel to ITSL clients seeking to determine specific distribution of
their estate including drafting of wills, trusts and other related
documents.
- In addition, the Estate Planner will be responsible for providing
advice about retirement plans, life and property insurance policies as
well as charitable contributions whenever required.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
and Marketing
- Develops and implements strategies to build the company’s capacity
to provide estate-planning solutions.
- Participating in the implementation and execution of strategic
marketing plans in support of the corporate strategy.
- Developing Estate Planning pricing strategies in consultation with
Head of ITSL, Head of Business Development and Head of Legal & Trust
Services, balancing marketing objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Preparing, in liaison with the Head of legal & Trust Services,
concept papers, periodic progress reports and annual reports showing
organizational achievements against planned targets as well as providing
justification for performance variances and areas of improvement.
- Assist in firm’s marketing activities including client pitch, public
speaking and awareness training.
Product
Review and Development
- Have the ability to develop and successfully roll out appropriate
new products and services to boost the sustainable, profitable growth of
the business line.
- Measuring product performance and liaising with Head of Business
Development to implement appropriate improvements in line with consumer
needs.
- Participating in the development and implementation of a structured
process of product review and development.
- Regularly liaising with the business development function to develop
estate planning solutions that leverage the company’s competitive edge.
- Providing insight to the product development by maintaining
consummate market intelligence and periodically reviewing existing estate
planning solutions to enhance their quality.
Operational
- Prepare and Review Legal Documents.
- Scrutinize legal documents before circulation to Directors.
- Review Estate instructions and ensure subsequent actions are in line
with all mandate.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements under
Estate Planning.
- Sets up and various Estate Planning structures according to client
needs.
- Attend and lead both high- and low-level client meetings and
coordinates maintenance of records of decisions and transactions.
- Organize and co-ordinate meetings with clients with all relevant
parties.
- Ensure all statutory, regulatory and internal reporting requirements
and deadlines are met.
- Communicates with clients in person and via mail, email and
telephone to commence an engagement and to keep matters moving forward on
a timely basis.
- Preparing, reviewing and updating legal documents, operations &
training manuals.
Occasional
Duties
- Systems Development – making sure the new products are brought on to
the system.
- Participating in internal ad-hoc committees.
- Involved in the automation of business functions.
Qualifications
- Land Economics Degree or Property Management experience
- Additional training/qualifications in property valuation and
management an added advantage.
- Registered accountant – CPA or CS
- Strong teamwork and organization skills
- Attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and ability to
prioritize tasks.
- Creative problem-solving, critical thinking, negotiation, verbal and
written communication skills
- Ability to make presentations to a large group of people.
- Confident and highly articulate.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills necessary to deal with a wide
variety of people and professionals.
- At least five (5) years’ post qualification experience
