Key Responsibilities
The
Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the
institution’s financial health and ensuring sound financial management
practices. Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide strategic financial leadership and advise management on
financial planning and decision-making.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, management
accounts, and periodic financial reports.
- Develop and manage institutional budgets, ensuring departments
operate within approved allocations.
- Monitor cash flow and financial performance to ensure the
institution maintains financial sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
including tax obligations, audits, and government regulations.
- Lead and supervise the finance team, ensuring efficiency,
accountability, and professional development of staff.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard
institutional assets and minimize financial risks.
- Oversee fee collection, receivables, and revenue management,
ensuring effective financial tracking of student payments.
- Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors,
regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.
- Manage financial systems and support implementation or optimization
of ERP systems for financial operations.
- Provide financial insights and reports to support strategic planning
and institutional growth.
- Work closely with departmental heads to guide financial planning,
budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve
operational efficiency.
- Prepare financial forecasts and long-term financial plans for
institutional sustainability.
Key Requirements
- Must hold CPA (K) qualification.
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a
related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience working with an ERP system will be an added
advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a finance team and oversee
accounting functions.
- Ability to work closely with departmental heads and
support institutional management with financial insights.
