Accountant Job in Kenya - Phoenix Capital

You will be responsible for keeping track of finances, entering data into the company databases, prepare financial statements, process invoices for all branches and also support other employees throughout any accounting processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining all the essentials books of accounts
  • Maintaining cashbooks
  • Reconcile cashbooks with bank statements.
  • Ensure reconciliation of loanees listing is done and on time
  • Make all the necessary preparations for the External audits
  • Ensure safe custody of cheque books currently in use
  • Production of cash balances on a daily basis.
  • Prepare cheque payment vouchers and write cheques
  • Process, remit and prepare returns of statutory deductions
  • Timely and accurate posting of cash transactions
  • Daily cash reconciliations

  • Ensure that the cash transaction books are up to date
  • Receive cash from clients and disbursing of loan in cash to clients while adhering to the cash management policy.
  • Maintaining on a daily basis a list of all cash received and cash disbursed.
  • Ensuring all cash is well recorded and stored as per the cash management policy
  • Responding to customer queries and advising them accordingly
  • Filing of documents
  • Data entry
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Role Requirements

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, accounting, economics or any relevant disciplines
  • Must hold more than 3 years experience in the field and at least 3 years in th same position
  • Must be a CPA finalist
  • Must have experience and knowledge of updating and usage of a Loan Management System
  • Must be knowledgeable in preparing financial report
  • Must have strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Age between 28-35years
  • Must have Fluency of the English language both oral and written
