Workplace Safety Consultant / Trainer Job in Kenya - IRES

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Workplace Safety Consultant to design, deliver, and advise on comprehensive workplace safety, health, and risk management programs that enhance compliance, reduce incidents, and strengthen organizational safety culture.

The consultant will support the development and implementation of training programs, advisory services, and applied research, ensuring alignment with IRES standards, ethical principles, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver workplace safety, OSH, and HSE training programs.
• Conduct safety risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
• Advise on development and implementation of OSH policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
• Support compliance with national, regional, and international safety regulations and standards.
• Facilitate safety leadership and governance sessions for management and executives.
• Develop training materials, toolkits, and implementation roadmaps.
• Provide consultancy support for audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.

Qualifications & Experience:


• Master’s degree (minimum) in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
• Professional safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent.
• Membership in a recognized professional safety body is an added advantage.
• At least 7–10 years’ progressive professional experience in workplace safety, HSE, or risk management.
• Demonstrated experience delivering corporate-level training and consultancy services.
