Reporting Accountant Job in Kenya (100-150K)

Our client is an award-winning, reliable, and secure real-time end-to-end Payment Company. They’re a processing and billing service provider that supports instant payments both online and in-store. They offer customized payment solutions for all businesses to accept digital payments both online, in- store, as well as pay-on-delivery services.

They seek to hire a Reporting Accountant responsible for the accounting and taxation of the Company finances and assist in the financial reporting of their sister companies.

Responsibilities.


  • Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely book-keeping of the Company and sister companies.
  • Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
  • Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
  • Generate financial reports and statements to management for review.
  • Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
  • Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
  • Ensure tax returns are filed on a timely basis.
  • Partner with wider teams to ensure proper understanding of financial requirements.
  • Preparation of regulatory returns for the Company and sister companies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience with at least 3 years in a reputable audit or accountancy firm. Industry experience particularly the financial services sector is an advantage.
  • Extensive accounting and/or tax experience (particularly Kenyan VAT) for more than 5 years.
  • Preferably an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Math’s, Statistics, Business or Economics.
  • Accountancy qualifications, i.e. CPA, ACCA – qualified or nearing completion
  • Well-conversant with IFRS financial statements.
  • Knowledge of taxation of various African countries will be an advantage.
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Expertise working with XEROS.
