Job Summary:
- The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) plays a pivotal role in
leading and managing the nursing department at Veteran Mission Hospital.
As a key member of the senior management team, the CNO will oversee all
nursing operations, ensure high standards of patient care, and foster a
culture of continuous improvement and excellence in nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership to the nursing department,
aligning nursing goals with the hospital’s overall mission and objectives.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and
protocols to enhance patient care outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of nursing professionals,
promoting professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize
interdisciplinary patient care and service delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing performance metrics, ensuring
compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation for
nursing services.
- Foster a culture of patient-centered care, safety, and quality
improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree
in Nursing or Healthcare Management preferred.
- Registered Nurse with valid nursing license from the Nursing
Council of Kenya.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive nursing leadership
experience in a healthcare setting.
- Advanced diplomas or certifications in nursing management or
specialty areas are advantageous.
- Proven track record of driving nursing excellence, quality
improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
